Walk Tall’s counselling service provides open ended therapeutic support to adults, children, young people and couples.

We offer an integrative model of counselling, meaning that our practitioners have studied a variety of counselling theories. This enables an individual and tailored approach to the difficulties you are facing. Our couples, children and young person services are provided by specialist counsellors who have undertaken additional training enabling them to work with these client groups.

We provide open ended therapy, therefore there is no upper limit on the number of sessions you can attend.

Our counsellors are all members of the BACP (British association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) or the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and adhere to BACP or UKCP ethical frameworks. Walk Tall is an organisational member of the BACP.

The counselling service is accessible from 10am until 8.30pm Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 10am until 3pm.

Initial Consultation

Initial Consultation

Your first time at Walk Tall will be a chance to meet with a skilled assessment counsellor.

This will be an assessment session where it will be determined whether counselling is appropriate for you, and which of our skilled practitioners will be the best match for you.

It is also an opportunity for you to ask what counselling may be like for you.

BACP and UKCP Ethical Framework

All of our counsellors work according to British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP) or United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Ethical Framework. Under these guidelines our counsellors are subject to continuous supervision, continued professional development and must hold professionally indemnity insurance and enhanced DBS clearance.

Our counsellors draw knowledge from a diverse range of theoretical schools, including Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Integrative, Cognitive, Relational and Existential modalities. Our therapists who specialise in working with children and young people also hold additional qualifications in therapeutic play.

Walk Tall is an Organisational Member of the BACP.
